About Aquaculture
Hey I'm Liam, the "nose" behind Aquaculture. I'm so glad you've stopped by! Come learn about this lil operation.

I'm tryna have fun here.
I want to make fragrances with stupid names. I want to reimagine classical forms with modern profiles. And sometimes I just want to make something weird. Scent has no gender and each Aquaculture fragrance is for anyone. If a fragrance is described as leaning masculine or feminine, it is based on cultural associations with certain notes.
-
I want enjoying and understanding fragrance to be more approachable.
I also wanted to start a brand that didn't take itself too seriously, because the perfume industry is up its own ass, and personal fragrance doesn't need to be just for cologne bros and perfume girlies (cologne bros and perfume girlies, please don't go, I need you).
-
I'm basically a one-man shop.
I've never done anything remotely like this before, so please find it in your heart to offer me a touch of grace if I screw anything up. Within reason.

All Aquaculture fragrances are handcrafted using high-quality, skin-safe ingredients.
Each formula is made within the standards of the International Fragrance Association. I use no dyes, parabens, ethanolamines, or phthalates and no nitro or polycyclic musks. No animal testing, except for on yours truly. Vegan except for Big Tobacco, which uses natural honey extract. I reach for sustainable and organic ingredients when possible and avoid those with high potential for bioaccumulation.

Eau de parfum? Eau de toilette?
These are terms that clue you into how much the fragrance is diluted. An eau de parfum is typically around 10-20% perfume concentrate and an eau de toilette is typically 5-15%. Big ranges that overlap? Indeed. At this point, it's mostly vibes, baby. There are also stronger concentrations, like extraits, and lighter ones, like eau de cologne and eau fraiche.

The marbled paper is tight, right?
Dear Phoebe does most of the paper marbling. Maybe we'll start selling that by itself, too. For now at least I'll just include some with your order.
I wish you the best on your olfactive journey, and I'm so happy I get to be a part of it.
Love ya,
Liam

Thanks for getting this far
I'd be remiss if I didn't try to sell you something. Check out the Discovery Set!
